Quick fixes for common problems
- The recorder says it can’t use the microphone. Click the padlock or “aA” icon next to the web address and allow the microphone, then reload the page. On iPhone/iPad use Safari or Chrome with iOS 14.3 or later.
- I can’t hear the music examples. Check the device isn’t on silent, and tap Play again (browsers need a tap before playing sound).
- A valve is stuck or slow. Unscrew it, check it’s in the right casing (they are numbered), add valve oil and twist until it clicks.
- The mouthpiece is stuck. Don’t pull with pliers! Bring it to a music shop — they have a special puller.
- My lips hurt. Take a day off, then use less pressure and shorter sessions with more rests.
